Some lovely green foliage hangs down in front of this gate providing some much-needed shade and inviting the viewer to imagine there is a secret garden waiting to be explored on the other side.

The beautiful blooming tree is casting a wonderful organic shadow across the gate. The shadow contrasts beautifully with the rigid repeating vertical pattern of the gate.

You have to look closely to see the difference between #28 and #29. This gate uses the same rectangular pattern, but rotated 90 degress to be horizontal. Hey, why re-invent the wheel.

Here’s another gate that uses a simple rectangular pattern. As with most of the gates in Mekelle they are constructed with a man-door.
