Here we have the gate for a local school ( I think) that has been personalized in a different way than some of the others. Instead of detailed metal-work we have some artwork painted on the outside of a fairly plain metal gate.

If asked I would probably re-title this photo the ‘book gate’. The top has the profile of an open book and the cursive scroll details remind me of hand writing.

When I started this project I was inspired by the well designed and detailed gates on many of the houses in Mekelle, but I was also attracted to the simpler make-shift gates.
